A Historic Adirondack Legacy

Founded in 1898, our golf course here at the Whiteface Club & Resort is recognized by the USGA as one of the oldest continuously operating courses in the country. Originally a modest 6-hole layout along the shores of Lake Placid, the course was reimagined in 1933 into its modern 18-hole championship design by renowned architect John van Kleek and legendary golfer Walter Hagen. Over the decades, the pristine fairways and striking views of Whiteface Mountain have drawn golf enthusiasts and iconic figures alike, from Babe Ruth to Arnold Palmer.

Stretching 6,445 yards through majestic Adirondack forests, our par-72 course seamlessly blends classic design features like clover-shaped greens and strategic bunkering, with breathtaking scenery. Today, as the centerpiece of our 350-acre resort community, the course offers players of all skill levels an unmatched combination of rich history, meticulous conditions, and authentic mountain hospitality.
